A father who attempted to kill his infant daughter has been imprisoned for 35 years.
The assailant, Rhydian Lynne Rhys Jamieson, 28, inflicted severe injuries on his young daughter by throwing her at a TV and left the child uncared for beneath a duvet at a residence in Y Ferwig, Ceredigion.
He left his daughter with a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, extensive cuts and bruising.
“I’m sorry for what I’ve done,” Jamieson said in his multiple text messages, including one to the baby’s mother, apologising for his actions.
In another text, he said: “I’m scared. I think I’ve killed someone,” and, “I’m going to be on the news.”

The Swansea Crown Court heard Jamieson, known as Rhys, “snapped” before attacking his daughter.
The mother of the baby in an account of the impact on the victim said: “You’re nothing but a spiteful, disgusting person.
“The impact on my child will last for the rest of my life.
“I’ll never understand what you were thinking. It doesn’t matter how long you’ll get because it will never be enough.”
Last year, Jamieson applied to withdraw his guilty plea, but Judge Paul Thomas KC rejected the request.
During sentencing, the judge described Jamieson, who was absent from court, as “a coward” and said he was “consumed by self-pity.”
“You threw the baby with great force at the television. It was a fit of uncontrolled temper.
“You did not even bother to check whether the baby was alive. It was an act of the most horrendous callousness and self-interest.
“The child has irreversible brain damage. You have no remorse, no regret, for what you did.”
Jamieson will have to serve at least two-thirds of his 35-year sentence before becoming eligible for release.
