Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Sunday reportedly carried out a raid at the Green Legacy Hotel, situated within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library premises in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The operation, conducted in the early hours of the day, according to sources, targeted a pool party where several young people suspected of engaging in internet fraud were present. Over 20 luxury cars and other valuables were allegedly seized during the exercise.
The anti-graft agency has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
Managing Director of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Ventures, Vitalis Ortese, confirmed there was an incident but withheld details.
“There was an incident this morning. We will find out and we will let you know,” Ortese stated.
EFCC announces 93 arrests
The anti-graft agency has disclosed that its Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 operatives have arrested 93 suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State.
The suspects were arrested on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in a sting operation in Abeokuta, following credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet crimes.
“Upon their arrest, 18 vehicles and mobile devices were recovered from them. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the EFCC said on its X handle.
