Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives have arrested 14 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations within Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

According to reports, the anti-graft agency’s operatives from the Uyo Zonal Directorate swooped on the culprits on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Ikot Akpanabia, Udoudoma, and the Nwaniba areas of Uyo in an intelligence-driven sting operation.

EFCC’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale disclosed that three of the arrested suspects are undergraduates of the University of Uyo.
Oyewale added that items recovered from them include 26 smartphones, one iPad, three laptops, one wristwatch, and a black Toyota Camry car.

Speaking on the operation, the EFCC’s spokesperson noted that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.Load more
