The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), effective immediately.
The announcement was made in a press release by the outgoing FPRO, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
CSP Hundeyin, a seasoned communicator and security expert, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
A graduate of Lagos State University with a BA (Hons) in English Language, Hundeyin also holds an MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
His professional credentials include a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre in Jaji, Kaduna State.
He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
Hundeyin’s career spans significant roles within the Nigeria Police Force.
He previously served as the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, where he earned a reputation for effective communication and public engagement.
He also held the position of Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department in Abuja and was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020.
His earlier tenure as the Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, further honed his skills in media relations and public outreach.
IGP Egbetokun tasked Hundeyin with leveraging his extensive experience to strengthen the Force’s public relations efforts and foster positive engagement with the public.
Hundeyin is expected to enhance transparency and trust between the Nigeria Police Force and citizens.
