Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has urged the people of Ikogosi, both at home and abroad, to foster cooperation and peace as foundational pillars for the community’s sustainable and impactful development.
Addressing community leaders at an interactive session held on Friday in Ikogosi, during the 2024 Ikogosi Day celebration, Governor Oyebanji emphasised that harmony, unity, and mutual respect are key to attracting investment and advancing the community as a thriving centre for tourism and economic growth.
The governor highlighted Ikogosi’s potential as a major revenue source for Ekiti State due to its distinctive cultural and natural attractions, calling on citizens to prioritize collective objectives over individual interests.
He stressed that collaboration is essential for realizing the community’s aspirations and enhancing its prospects.
Governor Oyebanji reassured attendees of his administration’s commitment to empowering Ikogosi through investments in infrastructure, education, and local job creation.
He affirmed that the town’s development holds a special place on his agenda, urging residents to stay committed to their shared vision of a prosperous, united community.
“I believe that the path to progress is paved with honesty, truth, and love stated. This town is our own Jerusalem, and we must cultivate love for one another because where there is love, progress follows. The change we envision for Ikogosi begins with each of us. Let’s leave here today resolved to become better people and to love our community.”
Earlier, the President of the Ikogosi Progressive Union, Sola Agbaje, expressed his gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for his dedication to the town’s development, noting that the session was aimed at identifying strategies for community advancement.
Echoing similar sentiments, Princess Omobola Adepoju, the Regent of Ikogosi, commended the governor for his unwavering commitment to the town, highlighting the notable achievements of his administration over the past two years. She encouraged citizens to unite in pursuit of transformative progress for Ikogosi.
Community leaders present at the session praised the governor for the extensive development taking place across Ekiti State under his leadership, pledging their steadfast support for his administration.
