The six kidnapped students who were abducted on their way to the Yola Campus of the Nigerian Law School, Adamawa State, for resumption have regained freedom following the intervention of the Benue State Police Command.
Recall that the six law students were reportedly kidnapped along the Benue and Taraba expressway on 26 July with a demand for the sum of N50 million.
The Command spokesperson, Udeme Edet, in a statement shared on Friday, disclosed that the six kidnapped students travelling from Anambra State to commence their academic journey at the law school ran into the kidnappers along the boundary between Benue and Taraba.

The statement read, “Please be informed that the police have successfully rescued six law students of the Yola campus, who were abducted on July 26, 2025, while travelling from Anambra State to Adamawa State, and they have been safely released and united with their families this morning, August 1, 2025.”
On 28 July, the Nigerian Bar Association’s president, Afam Osigwe, shared the news with participants of the NBA’s North-Central regional security summit, citing the alarming rate of security threats in the region.
