President Joe Biden stated on Tuesday, October 1, that the United States is “fully supportive” of Israel in light of recent ballistic missile attacks from Iran, which he described as “defeated and ineffective.”
Biden indicated that he would be discussing potential responses to Iran with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, though he noted that the specifics of that response are still under consideration.
“The attack appears to have been neutralized and ineffective, demonstrating the strength of both Israeli and U.S. military capabilities,” Biden told reporters at the White House. “Make no mistake, the United States is fully, fully, fully supportive of Israel.”
When asked about the U.S. response to Iran, Biden said, “That’s in active discussion right now. It remains to be seen.” He also mentioned that his team has maintained communication with Netanyahu’s office throughout the attacks, and he plans to speak directly with the prime minister soon.
“I’ll be talking to him, and my message will depend on our final assessment of what is needed,” he added.
