Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called on civil servants to be knowledgeable and well-versed in government policies to ensure they can speak from a position of authority.
The governor made this appeal during a virtual fireside chat as part of the Lagos State Public Service Accelerator Programme, a continuous learning initiative.
The event was themed “Experiential Learning with Communication, Courtesy, and Credibility: Humanising Public Institutions.”
Sanwo-Olu encouraged participants to adopt a “Pass-It-On” approach, sharing their acquired knowledge with colleagues in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
He stressed that human capital development is as critical as infrastructure development for securing a better future for the state.

The governor expressed confidence that the accelerator program would become a lasting fixture in the state’s public service system.
Sanwo-Olu urged participants to remain dedicated, develop relevant skills, and engage productively with their colleagues for both personal and professional growth.
Earlier, Afolabi Ayantayo, the Commissioner for Establishments and Training, explained that the program is designed to equip civil servants with leadership and interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and drive positive change.
He noted that the curriculum focuses on enhancing communication skills, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and innovation to improve service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary, Olubusola Abidakun, revealed that 100 participants were selected through a rigorous interview process to ensure equal representation across various MDAs.
