According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the approved projects include the 120-kilometre Mokwa–Bida Road, the 63-kilometre Mokwa–Makera Road, and the 123.5-kilometre Bida–Lambata Road, in addition to the ongoing Suleja–Minna road project.
Bago assured the federal government that his administration would provide all necessary support to contractors handling the projects to ensure their timely delivery.
“We appreciate the Federal Government for approving the reconstruction of critical road projects in Niger State. Our administration will provide all the necessary support to contractors to ensure the successful execution of these projects,” the governor said.
He added that discussions during the meeting also focused on strategies to mobilise contractors to site and ensure that the projects are executed in line with contractual timelines.
“The focus is to ensure contractors are mobilised to site promptly and kept on their toes so that the projects are delivered as stipulated in the contract terms,” he said.
The governor noted that improving road infrastructure remains a priority for his administration, stressing that Niger State has one of the largest networks of federal trunk roads in the country.
The visit, he added, forms part of ongoing engagements with federal authorities to secure improved infrastructure for the state.
