Joseph Bagudu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Saturday’s supplementary by-election for Kaduna’s Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, has praised what he described as a “massive turnout” of voters.
Speaking after casting his vote at Polling Unit 003, Ungwan Madaki in Kajuru Local Government Area, Bagudu said the process was peaceful and orderly, commending both the electorate and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their conduct.
The election was held to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Labour Party lawmaker Ekene Adams, who represented the constituency until his passing in July 2024.
Bagudu linked the strong voter presence to growing confidence in the ruling APC and the leadership of Governor Uba Sani.
“The conduct of today’s election shows the people’s acceptance of our party and the leadership style of Governor Uba Sani. I believe this confidence will not only translate into victory at the polls but also ensure that the APC is returned in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
He also urged voters to remain peaceful and avoid any disruptions to the electoral process.
“We must continue to conduct ourselves peacefully to ensure a hitch-free election,” Bagudu added.
