Prominent chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, including former Senate Leader Senator Teslim Folarin, Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and former First Lady Mrs Florence Ajimobi, have pledged to deliver the state overwhelmingly for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking at the flag-off of a tour covering 14 federal constituencies in Oyo town on Monday, the leaders vowed to set aside internal differences and personal ambitions to ensure Tinubu’s re-election.

The event drew a large gathering of party stalwarts, including Oyo State APC Chairman Alhaji Olayide Abass, Senators Yunus Akintunde, Sharafadeen Alli, Femi Lanlehin, and Ayo Adeseun, as well as Engineer Idris Adeoye.
Senator Folarin emphasised that all party leaders in the state had resolved to prioritise unity over individual aspirations.
“Every leader with 2027 ambitions has set them aside. We must prioritise unity, rebuild internal trust, and deliver a landslide mandate for President Tinubu,” he declared.
He highlighted the APC’s target to significantly boost Tinubu’s vote tally in Oyo, building on the 449,884 votes secured in 2023 described as one of the strongest performances nationwide.
“Our mission now is to increase that figure by at least 35% through intensified grassroots mobilisation across all 33 local government areas,” Folarin stated.
Ajimobi hailed the initiative as a unifying platform demonstrating the party’s strength and discipline. She appealed to fellow leaders to close ranks and foster lasting peace within the APC.
The reconciliation efforts come amid previous internal wranglings that had divided factions within the state chapter.

The leaders’ public commitment signals a deliberate push to consolidate support ahead of the next general election.
Party officials expressed optimism that the renewed solidarity would translate into expanded membership and stronger electoral fortunes, not only for the presidency but across all tiers in 2027.
