The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has stated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is not using anti-corruption agencies to target political opponents.
The Minister made this assertion on Wednesday during a roundtable organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, Idris said that fighting corruption is a key priority for the Tinubu administration, which is committed to strengthening institutions like the ICPC and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He emphasised that the government maintains a policy of non-interference, ensuring these agencies operate with independence and professionalism.
The Minister reiterated Tinubu’s stance that there will be no safe haven for corruption in Nigeria.
He highlighted ongoing judicial reforms aimed at preventing unnecessary delays in corruption trials, ensuring that justice is delivered promptly.
Idris also urged state Commissioners of Information, regardless of their political affiliation, to embrace the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the President.

He stressed the importance of their role in communicating government policies to citizens at the grassroots level, noting that transparency and accountability are fundamental principles of the Tinubu administration.
The Minister praised the ICPC, led by its Chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu, for its innovative approach to engaging key stakeholders in the fight against corruption.
