Channels Television disclosed that the Head of Media and Publicity for the Commission, Dele Oyewale, confirmed this in a telephone conversation on Wednesday.
Professor Yusuf was arrested by EFCC operatives who raided his residence on Wednesday.
Though no reason was given for the arrest, NEW DAILY PRIME learnt that Former President Muhammadu Buhari sacked him after he was indicted by a fact-finding panel set up by the Federal Ministry of Health over alleged mismanagement of N919m.
The anti-corruption agency said the former NHIS chief will be arraigned on Thursday 30th January, 2025.
It would be recalled that a petition was submitted to the immediate past presidency under former President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Ministry of Health, over misconduct and fraudulent practices.
Yusuf was relieved of his appointment in 2019 by the former President Buhari seven months after he was recommended for dismissal by a fact-finding panel set up by the Federal Ministry of Health over alleged mismanagement of N919m.
