Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the employment of 1,010 new secondary school teachers as part of his administration’s efforts to address the persistent shortage of educators in public schools.
The Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), which conducted the recruitment exercise last year, has published the list of successful candidates.
The list is now available online and will also be displayed at TESCOM headquarters and zonal offices across the state starting Tuesday.
The newly recruited teachers are expected to commence their documentation process immediately.

Governor Aiyedatiwa had previously approved the hiring of 1,000 secondary school teachers and 1,000 primary school teachers, a move that kickstarted the recruitment process by TESCOM and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
While the final list for secondary school teachers has now been approved, the selection process for primary school teachers is still being finalized.
The governor emphasised the need to address staffing shortages in public schools, particularly in rural areas.
He directed that the recruitment be tailored to meet the specific needs of understaffed schools across the state.
This initiative is part of broader efforts by the Aiyedatiwa administration to revamp the education sector in Ondo State.
Just last Friday, the governor approved a sum of ₦633 million for the registration of students for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
