Multichoice, the parent body of DStv and GOtv, is set to increase its subscription packages starting March 1, 2025.
The company, in a statement titled, “Price adjustments for DStv and GOtv packages,” made this known on Monday.
According to the statement, the hike is to enable expand its services to customers.
The new hike is coming after its last price review almost a year ago.
“Dear Customer, please note that effective 1 March 2025, there will be a price adjustment on all DStv packages.
“This is to enable us to continue to offer our customers world-class homegrown and international content, delivered through the best technology,” part of the statement reads.
The DStv Compact bouquet will increase N15,700 to N19,000, the Compact Plus to N30,000, while the Premium subscription rises to N44,500.
Also, GOtv subscribers will pay 3,900 from N3,600, while the GOtv Plus plan will increase from N4,850 to N5,800.
The GoTV max package will now cost N8,500 while the Supa will cost N11,400 and the Supa Plus, N16,800.
The company blamed the new price increase on the rising cost of operating a business in Nigeria.
It cites currency depreciation, naira’s value dropping significantly, including high inflation as part its operation expenses.
