Adeleke said this while attending the investiture ceremony of George Elombi as the fourth President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), held in New Capital, Egypt.
The governor also revealed that he is currently engaged in discussions with Afreximbank for a strategic partnership focused on developing the state’s creative industry.
According to Adeleke, this collaboration will specifically target the advancement of the state’s Adire industry and the wider Creative Economy.
The goal is to empower local artisans, boost exports, and create sustainable employment opportunities for women and youths in the state.
“Osun State is positioning itself as a hub for creativity and cultural excellence,” Adeleke stated.
“Our partnership with Afreximbank will open new frontiers for our creative sector and strengthen our role in Africa’s growing cultural economy.”
The investiture ceremony also served as a farewell event for the outgoing President, Professor Benedict Oramah, who concluded a decade of “visionary leadership” at the helm of the bank.
Adeleke was joined at the ceremony by other prominent figures, including Deji Adeleke, Chairman of Pacific Holdings Ltd.; Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and Toyin Saraki.
