Meanwhile, Adeleke described the arrests as a significant step forward in Nigeria’s ongoing fight against terrorism.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor highlighted the “proactive strategy” of the current national security leadership.
He said the arrests have bolstered state security and enhanced the country’s ability to safeguard its citizens and territorial integrity.
Adeleke commended the effectiveness of the security policies implemented under Tinubu’s administration, noting the positive impact of reforms across various security agencies, including the military, the National Intelligence Agency, the Department of State Service (DSS), and the Nigerian Police.
The governor revealed that the state had been a direct beneficiary of these security reforms, as joint efforts by intelligence and security services led to the dismantling of “sleeper cells” belonging to the Ansaru terrorist organisation within the state.
