The Rivers State Police Command, through the Area Commander and Tactical Units, has been ordered to commence an investigation into the murder of a vigilante member, Mr. Precious Nnamdi, at Ahoada Town, in the Ahoada East Local Government Area (LGA).
This gruesome murder of Mr. Nnamdi has sparked tensions in Ahoada Town.
The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, noted that the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has directed its team to fish out the perpetrators of this heinous act.
Iringe-Koko stated, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. He has been deposited in the mortuary, and an investigation is ongoing.
“The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered the Area Commander and Tactical Units to fish out and arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime.”
A source in the community who pleaded anonymous told New Daily Prime reporters that the deceased hails from Ihuike Community in the Ula-Upata Kingdom, Ahoada East LGA, and noted that the vigilante member was killed by the suspected cultists on Tuesday night along the hospital road axis.

“I have lost my junior brother now. Bad boys held him and killed him. The boy was so respectful and good to me. They conspired and killed me. He was killed last night, and they used planks to hit him,” the source said.
The source, however, revealed that the yet-to-be-identified alleged cultists shot the deceased vigilante members several times while on patrol, but there was no penetration.
The suspects, after seeing that there was penetration, the assailants used sticks and iron objects to hit the vigilante member, leading to the death of the local security member.
