The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has taken delivery of two 40-foot containers of expired pharmaceuticals, intercepted by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Area Command, as part of joint efforts to safeguard public health.
The formal handover took place on Friday, 15 August 2025, at the KLT premises, where Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Joy Edelduok, presented the items, valued at ₦130 million, to the NDLEA.
Speaking at the event, Comptroller Edelduok said the seizure demonstrated Customs’ resolve to enforce the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023 and protect Nigerians from harmful imports.
She stressed that the command would continue to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in the fight against smuggling.
