The Kogi State Government has inaugurated a Case Management Committee to address Gender-Based Violence (GBV), child defilement, abandonment, and other family-related issues.
The committee, formed by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatimah Momoh, will also provide psycho-social support to survivors.
Speaking at the inauguration in Lokoja, Hajia Momoh urged members to be professional and committed.

She reminded them that their role is not to pass judgement but to ensure proper handling of cases with care and decorum.
“A Committee to handle cases of Gender Based Violence, Child Defilement and abandonment/family related complaints and provide psycho-social support to survivors has been constituted by the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatimah Momoh.,” the Information Officer of Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Joseph Adama noted in the document noted.
She called for unity among members and encouraged them to be good ambassadors of the ministry.
Mr Mark Olufemi, Committee Chairman, pledged on behalf of the members to work diligently and achieve the committee’s objectives.
Other members include Mrs Olorunrayetan Titilayo, Musa Helen, Hauwakulu Kabir, Amin Hajarat, Zhuya Paul, and Omorayewa Abiodun.
