As part of ongoing reforms in the health sector, Governor Biodun Oyebanji has reiterated his administration’s dedication to providing accessible and affordable healthcare for all residents of Ekiti State.
The governor made this commitment during an inspection of Ijan General Hospital, where he assessed the ongoing renovation and upgrades of healthcare facilities.
Also, Governor Oyebanji disclosed that his government has initiated the renovation of at least one primary health center in each of the state’s 177 wards.
This visit follows his earlier inspection of Itapa-Ilupeju and Iye-Ifaki General Hospitals, highlighting his proactive approach to improving medical services across the state.
Governor Oyebanji emphasised that his government is prioritizing the revitalization of healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that facilities meet the needs of citizens, particularly those at the grassroots level.

In addition to infrastructure improvements, the governor acknowledged the shortage of medical personnel in government hospitals and pledged to address the issue.
He announced plans to recruit more doctors and health workers across all general hospitals and primary healthcare centers.
To attract and retain skilled professionals, he also revealed that his administration would introduce an improved welfare package for medical personnel.
This effort is aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and ensuring that residents, especially those in rural areas, have better access to essential medical services.
With these initiatives, the Ekiti State government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the healthcare system, providing quality services, and improving the well-being of its citizens.
