Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit Zone “A” has hand over large consignment of smuggled and unregistered pharmaceutical products worth N24.6 million to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
This was made known through NAFDAC X page on Saturday.
The seized drugs include Tramadol 250mg in unauthorized pack sizes, which were illicitly brought into the country by suspected traffickers.

Along with the illegal drugs, Customs also transferred custody of a suspect to NAFDAC for further inquiry.
The statement, NAFDAC acknowledged the critical role the Customs Service plays in supporting national efforts to keep unsafe medicines out of circulation.
The agency praised Customs for its vigilance and consistent collaboration in protecting public health.
“The banned Tramadol 250mg in unapproved pack sizes, which had been smuggled into the country by criminal traffickers. The seizure is valued at ₦24.6 million,” NAFDAC noted, adding that investigations are ongoing.
The agency reaffirmed its dedication to cracking down on the distribution of falsified and unapproved drugs, while calling on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious pharmaceutical activities.
