Nigerian comedian and skit maker Zic Saloma has opened up about his decision to undergo cosmetic surgery, revealing that years of insecurity about his appearance pushed him to make the change.
In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram page, the popular content creator explained that he had battled self-doubt for a long time and even lost several opportunities in the entertainment industry because of how he looked.
According to him, the decision to get nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, was not driven by vanity but by a deep desire to feel more confident in himself.

“I decided to undergo nose surgery because I wasn’t comfortable with my appearance,” he said. “I had lost several job opportunities in the past because of how I looked. If you can afford cosmetic surgery, do it. If it will make you feel better, go for it.”
Zic Saloma further revealed that his surgery was performed in Turkey and lasted over four hours. The procedure didn’t only involve reshaping his nose, it also included a facelift and eye rejuvenation, all aimed at refining his facial features.
The entertainer disclosed that the entire process cost around $11,000 (approximately ₦17 million). However, he noted that he did not personally bear the financial burden of the surgery, as it was part of a collaboration with the hospital where the operation took place.
Reflecting on the experience, Zic Saloma said the transformation has significantly improved his self-esteem and changed how he views himself. He added that the surgery has given him renewed energy and confidence to take on bigger opportunities in the entertainment industry.
“I feel more comfortable in my skin now. Before, I used to avoid certain camera angles or photo shoots because I didn’t like how I looked. But now, I can confidently face the camera and be myself,” he said.
The comedian also used the opportunity to address critics who often shame celebrities for undergoing cosmetic procedures. He maintained that there is nothing wrong with self-improvement, as long as it is done safely and for the right reasons.
“People should stop judging others for wanting to look or feel better. As long as it’s safe and medically approved, go for it. Everyone deserves to be happy in their own body,” he added.
Zic Saloma, who rose to fame through his hilarious skits where he portrays multiple characters with distinct personalities, has become one of Nigeria’s most popular online comedians. His ability to blend humour, storytelling, and social commentary has earned him a loyal fan base across various platforms.
Since his surgery, many of his fans have expressed admiration for his openness and honesty about a topic that remains controversial in Nigerian society. Some praised him for breaking the silence around cosmetic surgery, while others applauded his confidence and transparency.
With his new look and renewed sense of purpose, Zic Saloma said he is ready to take his craft to the next level, both as a performer and as a creative force in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
“I’m still the same Zic, just more confident, happier, and ready to chase my dreams with full energy,” he concluded.
