Nigerian music superstars Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage have officially ended their long-running feud, marking a major moment of unity for two of Afrobeats’ most influential women.
The reconciliation happened on Thursday in Lagos during The Price of Being Her panel, organised by Entertainment Week Africa.
The rift between the two artists dates back seven years and stemmed from a social media clash.

Tensions began after Yemi Alade posted a cryptic message accusing some female entertainers of photoshopping or enhancing their buttocks to “deceive their fans”.
The post came shortly after Tiwa Savage shared photos accentuating her curves.
Interpreting the post as a direct attack, Tiwa fired back with a stern warning: “Don’t start a war you can’t finish.” What followed were years of subtle jabs, public tension, and an apparent cold war between both artistes, often fuelled by fan conversations online.
However, the icy relationship finally thawed at the Lagos event, where Yemi Alade publicly addressed Tiwa in a heartfelt speech that immediately went viral.
In the video, Alade said, “I honestly want you to know that those moments you get rugged and do what you truly want to do, you are standing up for many females. Just continue being you. You are literally walking in strength.”
Her tribute visibly moved Tiwa Savage, who became emotional as the audience applauded the moment.
Another video captured after the event showed both stars embracing warmly while singing together, an image many fans had long hoped to see.
The reconciliation has sparked widespread celebration among fans and industry colleagues, who praised the pair for choosing peace and setting a positive example for younger female artists.
