Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has made history as the first African artist to surpass 10 billion streams on Spotify.
The Ojuelegba crooner reached the milestone after his cumulative streams across projects and collaborations crossed the 10-billion mark on the global music streaming platform.

Wizkid’s most-streamed song on Spotify is his collaboration with Canadian superstar Drake and British singer Tyla, which has been streamed nearly 4 billion streams.
His third studio album, Made In Lagos (Deluxe), stands as his most-streamed body of work on Spotify, having amassed over one billion streams, further cementing its global impact.
As a lead artist, Wizkid’s most-streamed track remains ‘Essence’ featuring Tems, which has garnered over 333 million streams on the platform and is widely regarded as one of the biggest Afrobeats songs globally.
Meanwhile, American singer Billie Eilish has also set a new Spotify record. Her hit song ‘Birds Of A Feather’ has surpassed Tones and I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ to become the most-streamed solo song by a female artist in Spotify history.
‘Birds Of A Feather’ recently crossed 3.37 billion streams, overtaking ‘Dance Monkey’, which stands at 3.3 billion streams.
