Social media influencer Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed the reasons behind Don Jazzy’s generous donation of ₦100 million to his newly established Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
In an Instagram post on October 16, 2024, VDM expressed gratitude for the contribution, explaining that Don Jazzy, the founder of Mavin Records, was moved to support his initiative because it focuses on enhancing education for public school children.
“Let it be known that this man named Michael Collins Ajereh, aka Don Jazzy, donated 100 million to give public school kids advanced education with the aim to provide them a strong educational foundation,” he wrote.
VDM shared that his interaction with Don Jazzy was brief, as they had only met once and exchanged a handshake without much conversation.
“I and him met once, shook hands and that was it. We didn’t even talk for 1 minute; it’s not like he knows my background or anything,” he noted.
VeryDarkMan recently unveiled his NGO, which is dedicated to transforming public education in Nigeria through the use of cutting-edge technologies and innovative teaching methods, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Following the launch, he garnered over ₦35 million in donations within 24 hours, receiving support from various sectors.
Don Jazzy’s substantial contribution is a testament to his commitment to social causes and highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in improving educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Nigeria.
