Celebrity fashion designer Toyin Lawani has publicly accused Lagos-based private medical facility Euracare Hospital of alleged medical negligence following complications from a surgery carried out at the hospital.
The founder of Tiannah Empire made the allegations on Sunday in a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram page, where she detailed what she described as a traumatic medical experience that has left her with lasting health challenges.

According to Lawani, she visited the hospital for what she described as spine surgery but allegedly suffered severe complications afterward, including temporary loss of the use of her legs and a serious lung infection.
She claimed she spent close to ₦100 million on medical bills at the facility.
“Till today I still can’t speak well or walk well,” Lawani wrote, alleging that she began bleeding in her lungs shortly after the procedure and had to be rushed back into surgery the following day.
She further claimed that her condition deteriorated to the point where she stopped breathing and required emergency intervention.
The designer alleged that her lungs were punctured during the process and that her vocal cords were damaged, leading to further complications.
She added that after being discharged, she lost the use of her legs and was forced to return to the same hospital for additional treatment.
Lawani said she later contacted an ear, nose, and throat specialist in the United Kingdom, who advised the hospital to carry out a third surgery to remove a tracheostomy tube and assess whether she could breathe independently.
Following the procedure, she said she travelled to the UK with her family, where doctors reportedly discovered infections in her lungs and advised another surgery. She stated that she has been in and out of the hospital since then.
Threatening legal action, Lawani said she intends to sue Euracare Hospital once she has fully recovered, insisting that she will publicly share her full story at the appropriate time.
Her outburst comes days after renowned author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie accused the same hospital of negligence allegedly linked to the death of her son.
In response to Adichie’s claims, the Lagos State Government has ordered an investigation into the incident.
As of the time of this report, Euracare Hospital has not issued a public response to Lawani’s allegations.
