Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has shared a deeply personal decision about her reproductive health, revealing that she has frozen her eggs.
The award-winning singer, who is also a mother of one, explained that she took the step to keep her options open in case she decides to have more children in the future.
Speaking in a candid interview with British media personality Zeze Mills, the 42-year-old admitted she wished she had made the decision much earlier in her life.
“I wish I did it earlier,” Savage said. “But I’ve done it now. I don’t know if I want more kids, but in case I do, I’ve done that just to have that insurance.”
Savage urged women in their 30s to consider freezing their eggs as a way to take control of their fertility, regardless of whether they are currently planning to have children or not.
“One advice I will give to women in their 30s is whether you wanna have children or not, freeze your eggs,” she stressed.

According to her, having her first child in her 30s was a positive experience because she was more financially and emotionally stable at the time. However, she noted that women’s fertility can decline without warning.
“You could wake up at 36 and your egg reserve is done. And then that’s when you now decide that you want to have kids,” Savage explained. “We may be born with a certain number of eggs, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. That’s why I’m really a big advocate for egg freezing now.”
Her words shed light on a growing conversation among women about the importance of reproductive planning and fertility preservation. By sharing her journey, Savage joins other high-profile figures who have spoken publicly about the benefits of egg freezing, particularly for women balancing career goals, personal growth, and family planning.
Savage’s advocacy reflects her belief that women should have more control over their reproductive choices. Her advice is aimed especially at women in their 30s, a decade when fertility naturally begins to decline for many, but also a time when many women are more established in their careers and personal lives.
Egg freezing, also known as oocyte cryopreservation, allows women to store healthy eggs for future use. The process can be a safety net for those who want to delay pregnancy for personal, medical, or professional reasons.

New Daily Prime recalls that Tiwa Savage welcomed her first child, a son, with her then-husband Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz, on July 22, 2015, when she was 34 years old.
Now, with her son growing, Savage says she remains uncertain about whether she will expand her family. But thanks to her decision, she has kept the door open.
“I don’t know if I’ll have more kids,” she said. “But if I choose to, I’ve given myself that chance.”
