Renowned Nigerian music director TG Omori, aka Boy Director, makes a strong comeback after a failed kidney transplant, returning to the music video scene.

Omori, widely celebrated for his innovative music videos, shared the news of his return on Tuesday.

Posting on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, he uploaded a photo of himself back on a music video set, camera in hand. He captioned it with confidence, he wrote: “Ok, let’s see if I can still rock this b***h.”

The failed kidney transplant

His announcement comes months after undergoing a kidney transplant that, unfortunately, was unsuccessful. In August 2024, Omori received a kidney donation from his only brother and underwent surgery at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos. However, the procedure did not go as planned.

Despite the setback, Omori remained optimistic. While still recovering in his hospital bed, he assured his fans that he would return to work in 2025. Now, true to his word, he is back doing what he loves—directing music videos.

Industry reaction and fan support

Omori’s comeback has sparked excitement in the entertainment industry. Fans, colleagues, and celebrities flooded his comment section with messages of support and encouragement. Many expressed relief and admiration for his resilience, hailing his determination to push forward despite the health challenges he faced.

A legacy of excellence

Before his health crisis, Omori was one of the most sought-after music video directors in Nigeria and beyond. He has worked with top artists, creating visually stunning productions that have gained millions of views. His signature style, creative storytelling, and high production quality set him apart in the industry.

His return signals a new chapter, and many are eager to see what projects he will take on next. While he has not revealed details about his first project since his recovery, fans expect nothing short of brilliance from the director known for his bold and unconventional visuals.

A story of perseverance

Omori’s story is a testament to perseverance. Overcoming a health crisis is never easy, yet he has chosen to focus on his passion rather than dwell on his struggles. His journey serves as an inspiration to many who face personal battles but refuse to give up.

As he steps back behind the camera, the music industry eagerly awaits his next masterpiece. One thing is certain—TG Omori is not just back; he is ready to dominate once again.
