Former Big Brother Naija Season 4 housemate, Natasha Anita Akide, better known as Tacha, has once again stirred conversations about her time on the reality show.
The outspoken star has declared that she would have emerged the winner of the 2019 edition if not for her disqualification.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Hot Takes podcast, Tacha reflected on her journey in the house and the circumstances that cut it short.
According to her, her confidence stemmed from her resilience in the face of multiple eviction threats.
“I knew I was going to win,” she said firmly. “The fact that the other housemates were always putting me up for eviction… In the history of Big Brother Naija, no housemate has stood for eviction as much as I have. I was up for eleven possible evictions. But the fact that I kept bouncing back, I knew I had massive supporters outside.”
Her words rekindled memories of her eventful run in Season 4, titled Pepper Dem. Tacha was one of the most talked-about housemates that year, often dominating discussions both inside the house and on social media.
Her bold personality, no-nonsense attitude, and confrontations with fellow housemates made her a polarising figure, loved by many, disliked by others.
Yet, her resilience was undeniable. Each time she was nominated for eviction, her fan base, popularly known as the Titans, rallied behind her. Week after week, she survived, strengthening her claim of having one of the most loyal and organised fan groups in BBNaija history.
Her journey, however, came to an abrupt end in September 2019 after a heated clash with fellow finalist Mercy Eke. The altercation, which escalated into physical contact, led to Tacha’s disqualification for violent conduct.
Mercy, on the other hand, received two strikes but remained in the competition. She went on to become the eventual winner, making history as the first female champion of the show.
Looking back, Tacha insists that her disqualification robbed her of the crown. She argued that her eviction record proved she was the strongest contender that season.

“I wasn’t just surviving,” she explained on the podcast. “Every eviction week showed me the love and support outside. For me, that was proof. I had the numbers. I had the people. That’s why I say with confidence that I would have won.”
Tacha’s comments have sparked fresh debate among fans. Many of her supporters agree with her claim, pointing to the fact that she had become the central figure of Season 4 before her disqualification.
Her fans also argue that her popularity since the show, spanning endorsements, media appearances, and her business ventures, proves she was the true winner in spirit.
Critics, however, hold a different view. They argue that Big Brother’s rules are clear and that her disqualification was the result of her own actions.
According to them, no matter her popularity, violent conduct could not be overlooked in a competition built on discipline and fairness.
Regardless of differing opinions, what remains clear is that Tacha’s time on BBNaija left an indelible mark. Six years after her season, her name still sparks discussions, proving the extent of her impact.
Few housemates in the show’s history have managed to remain as relevant in public discourse as she has.
Since leaving the show, Tacha has built a strong career outside the house. She has worked with major brands, hosted shows, and grown her influence across social media. Her Titans fan base continues to stand by her, often defending her in online debates and celebrating her milestones.
As she revisits her BBNaija journey, one thing remains certain: Tacha’s story is one of resilience, controversy, and lasting influence.
While Mercy Eke holds the title of Season 4 winner, Tacha remains convinced that she was destined to wear the crown.
