Media personality Symply Tacha has argued that men should actively make an effort to impress women in relationships, dismissing claims that men no longer need to try.
Speaking on the CreativiTEA podcast, Tacha described the narrative that men “don’t have to impress” as flawed and contradictory, especially within modern dating culture, where men are still expected to take women out or buy gifts.

According to her, effort remains a key component of healthy relationships, and pretending otherwise only creates confusion.
“You can’t push the whole narrative of ‘men don’t have to impress,’ and every other day you’re telling a girl, ‘let me buy you bottles, let me take you out.’ There has to be effort,” she said.
Tacha stressed that gestures showing intention and care are essential, noting that attraction and effort are not new concepts but natural instincts seen even outside human relationships.
She pointed to examples from nature, where male birds display themselves to attract female birds, questioning why some men believe effort should suddenly be optional.
“If animals can get it, why can’t humans?” she asked. “Most animals share about 90 per cent DNA structure with humans. If a bird understands he has to impress the female, who are you to not understand you have to impress?”
The former reality TV star also criticised what she described as a misuse of “wokeness” and independence to justify minimal effort in relationships.
She urged women to be honest about their expectations and warned against accepting bare minimum behaviour under the guise of modern ideology.
According to Tacha, genuine relationships thrive on intentional effort, consistency, and mutual respect, not excuses.
