Popular Nigerian online streamer and content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has stirred up controversy after revealing a personal rift with Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy.
According to Peller, Stonebwoy is unhappy with him for choosing fellow Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale as his host during a recent visit to Ghana.
Peller made this known during a live conversation with Nigerian singer Peter Okoye of the famous music duo P-Square. The streamer did not hold back as he shared details of what appears to be a growing tension between him and Stonebwoy.
In the livestream, Peller explained that Stonebwoy initially reached out and offered to welcome him to Ghana. The artist reportedly showed interest in playing host and spending time with Peller during his stay. However, despite Stonebwoy’s approach, Peller eventually chose Shatta Wale instead.
“Stonebwoy is mad at me because he said he’d take me to Ghana, but I ended up choosing Shatta Wale,” Peller said during the session. He added that this decision has affected his friendship with Stonebwoy, who now seems distant and displeased.
Peller did not go into deep details about what influenced his decision, but sources close to the content creator say he has developed a close bond with Shatta Wale over the past year. Both have appeared in several livestreams together, and Shatta Wale has openly praised Peller’s creativity and sense of humor.
Some fans believe that Peller’s connection with Shatta Wale feels more natural and energetic. They see their friendship as a better match, especially for entertainment and social media content. That may have made the streamer lean toward Wale despite Stonebwoy’s earlier offer.
The online community has reacted strongly to Peller’s comments. Many fans have taken sides, with some accusing Peller of being disloyal to Stonebwoy. Others, however, believe he has the right to choose who he feels more comfortable with.
One fan on social media wrote, “Peller should be free to choose. It’s not that deep.” Another user replied, “But Stonebwoy was the first to reach out. That feels like a slap in the face.”
As the drama unfolds, both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have remained silent on the matter. Neither of them has made any public comment since the livestream aired.
Habeeb Hamzat, known widely as Peller, has gained massive popularity in recent years through his online skits, game streams, and humorous takes on pop culture. His content attracts thousands of views, and he has built a strong fan base across West Africa.
Thanks to his rising fame, Peller has grown close to several top music acts, both in Nigeria and Ghana. This has helped him cross into new markets and audiences. Collaborating with musicians like Shatta Wale and engaging with stars like Peter Okoye has boosted his profile.
Though this may seem like a simple case of personal preference, some observers believe it may highlight deeper tensions within Ghana’s music industry. The rivalry between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale is well-known. Both stars have competed fiercely for years, with fans often clashing online over who represents Ghana better.
By choosing one over the other, Peller may have unintentionally reignited those tensions. Some entertainment watchers say it’s a reminder of how sensitive relationships in the industry can be.
Despite the backlash, Peller remains focused on creating content and growing his brand. He has not apologized for his decision and continues to post regular updates for his followers. During the livestream with Peter Okoye, he appeared relaxed and unbothered by the controversy.
As for Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, fans will be watching closely to see if either artist will respond to the situation or let it fade away.
For now, one thing is clear, in the world of music and social media, even simple choices can lead to unexpected drama.
