Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has revealed that she underwent a medical procedure years ago to prevent herself from having more children because she did not want a large family.
The actress disclosed while discussing motherhood on her YouTube platform, Shaffy Bello TV, where she reflected on the personal decisions she made regarding family planning.

According to Bello, she decided to tie her fallopian tubes about 26 years ago after concluding that she did not want to have many children.
She explained that although her former husband wanted them to expand their family, she remained firm in her decision to stop having more children.
“My ex-husband had to beg me to have another one. I didn’t want a lot of children. I wanted to stop,” she said.
The actress further revealed that the procedure was carried out through her navel, where doctors performed the operation and tied her fallopian tubes, permanently preventing pregnancy.
Describing the process, Bello said the doctors accessed her abdomen through her navel before completing the procedure that stopped the release of eggs required for conception.
“So they went through my navel, went in there, did what they needed to do, and they tied it up. That was it. They closed my eggs,” she said.
Bello noted that she had always been certain about the kind of family she wanted and never felt pressured to have more children than she desired.
She added that she has remained comfortable with the decision over the years, stressing that it was a personal choice she made after careful consideration.
In a light-hearted remark, the actress joked that if she were to become pregnant again after undergoing the procedure, she would consider it a miracle.
“I’ve always said to myself that after tying my tubes, if I get pregnant, I will feel like Mary, it’s a holy child,” she said.
Her revelation has sparked conversations online about family planning and the personal decisions individuals make regarding parenthood.
