Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has taken a swipe at renowned music duo, Paul and Peter Okoye, otherwise known as P-Square, accusing them of hypocrisy over their lack of support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a recent interview with media personality Teju Babyface, Seyi Law expressed disappointment in some of his colleagues within the entertainment industry, claiming they deliberately opposed Tinubu’s candidacy due to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s exclusion from the APC ticket.
“If APC had brought Osinbajo, you would still have used the badge of Buhari to defeat him,” he remarked, pointing fingers at perceived double standards among entertainers.
Addressing the backlash he received for openly supporting President Tinubu, Seyi Law alleged that many critics, including P-Square, had previously aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) under former President Muhammadu Buhari, only to later denounce the party.
“The same people who are against the APC today once danced on stage when Buhari was inaugurated. ‘E no easy ee ooooo. To sing and to dey dance and the people dey rejoice eee’, they did it for Buhari,” Seyi Law stated, referencing P-Square’s performance at Buhari’s 2015 inauguration.
He continued: “Today, Tinubu is the enemy. Sometimes, our colleagues who wave an umbrella today or begin to wave a cock for another political party are not saints either.”
P-Square, comprising twin brothers Peter and Paul, openly backed Labour Party candidate Peter Obi during the 2023 general elections and performed at various campaign rallies in support of his presidential bid.
