Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, has shared how his demanding music career and constant touring have taken a toll on his personal relationships, especially his love life.
The Asiwaju crooner made the revelation in a candid post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, admitting that life on the road has made it difficult for him to maintain a stable romantic relationship.

“Being on the road has really affected my love life. It became worse after I went back to my black hair and low cut because these girls have been over rushing me. But deep down, I really wanna settle down soon,” Ruger wrote.
Ruger, who gained fame with his hit singles Bounce, Dior, and Asiwaju, said that while fame has opened doors for him, it has also brought challenges in his personal life.
The singer noted that his rebranding, which included switching from his signature pink-dyed hair to a natural low-cut look, unexpectedly made him even more attractive to women, worsening his romantic situation.
Despite his popularity among female fans, Ruger admitted that he desires something deeper, a stable and lasting relationship.
His comment sparked conversations online, with fans sharing mixed reactions; some expressed admiration for his honesty, while others teased him for complaining about attention many would envy.
Beyond romance, the Jonzing World star also revealed that his tight schedule has strained his relationship with his family. He disclosed that he barely gets to spend time with his loved ones due to his busy performance calendar.
“I hardly even see my family coz trust me, I’m the most booked artist in this country. People want to see me on stage around the world. They want that Ruger sauce every month,” he added.
Ruger, known for his energetic stage performances and distinct eye patch look, has had a successful run in the music industry since debuting in 2021.

His global tours across Europe, America, and Africa have cemented his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most sought-after performers.
However, his recent confession sheds light on the personal sacrifices that come with fame, from constant travel to the loneliness that sometimes follows.
The singer’s openness about wanting to “settle down soon” also signals a more mature phase in his life and career, as he continues to balance global stardom with personal growth.
While Ruger continues to dominate the global Afrobeats scene, his reflections reveal that behind the glitz of fame lies the struggle to maintain love, family connections, and normalcy, a price many artists quietly pay for success.
