Actress Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy Daniels, has been granted bail after several days in detention amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his sister’s marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko.
According to reports, the Magistrate Court in Dutse, which handled the case, approved his release on Monday, November 10, 2025, setting his bail at ₦5 million.
Sources close to the family confirmed that Sammy, who had been in custody since his arrest last week in Lagos, was initially remanded in Keffi Prison before being transferred to Suleja Prison over the weekend.

The bail was granted under strict conditions, including the presentation of reliable sureties and legal guarantees to ensure his availability for further court proceedings.
Sammy’s arrest reportedly stemmed from allegations made by Senator Ned Nwoko, who accused him of interfering in his private matters and contributing to the escalating tension surrounding his estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
While the full details of the case remain unclear, the incident is said to be connected to the public fallout between Nwoko and the Nollywood actress, which has dominated social media discussions in recent weeks.
In a post celebrating his brother’s release, Regina’s elder brother, known as Sweezzy1 on Instagram, expressed joy and gratitude to fans and well-wishers who showed support throughout Sammy’s detention.
He wrote:
“Sammy, you are a great man. Bail has been granted! Nigerians, thank you.”
The post quickly attracted reactions from fans, with many expressing relief over Sammy’s release and urging the family to stay strong amid the controversy.
New Daily Prime recalls that Sammy Daniels was arrested in Lagos a week earlier following a complaint reportedly filed by Senator Ned Nwoko. The businessman and politician had accused Sammy of harassment, trespassing, and interference in what he described as a “private domestic issue.”
The arrest came amid a broader public dispute between Nwoko and Regina Daniels, in which several allegations, ranging from drug abuse to manipulation, had surfaced on social media.
Nwoko had earlier claimed that some of Regina’s close associates and family members were frustrating her rehabilitation process, accusing them of secretly supplying her with drugs while she was undergoing treatment.
He specifically mentioned a few of Regina’s friends and siblings, including Sammy, as those who allegedly defied medical instructions and “encouraged her addiction.”
The accusations sparked widespread debate online, with many Nigerians questioning the authenticity of the claims and criticising the public handling of the family’s private issues.
Following the arrest, public sympathy grew for Sammy, as many social media users demanded transparency and fairness in the investigation process.

Neither Regina Daniels nor her mother, Rita Daniels, has made an official statement regarding Sammy’s release. However, sources close to the family hinted that they were relieved by the court’s decision and hopeful that the matter would soon be resolved.
While it remains uncertain whether the charges against Sammy will be dropped, his release on bail marks a temporary relief for the Daniels family, who have faced intense public scrutiny in recent weeks.
As of press time, Senator Ned Nwoko had yet to issue any comment regarding Sammy’s bail or the next legal steps in the case.
