Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has vowed to pursue legal action against anyone who defames him, following his recent arrest and remand over an alleged criminal defamation case involving veteran fuji musician Akorede Saheed, widely known as Saheed Osupa.
In a now-viral video circulating on social media, the self-styled “Zazu” crooner issued a stern warning to his critics, declaring that he would no longer tolerate any defamatory remarks made against him.
“Whoever talks bad about me or defames me will be arrested, They have done it to me, and I will do it to anybody too. There is no mercy,” Portable stated.
Portable’s comments come in the wake of his detention at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. He was remanded by an Upper Area Court after failing to meet what were described as stringent bail conditions.
The charges were reportedly linked to defamatory comments made against Saheed Osupa.
However, following the veteran musician’s decision to withdraw the petition, Portable was subsequently granted bail and released from custody.
The incident has sparked conversations online, with fans and critics alike weighing in on the singer’s controversial remarks and legal entanglement.
Portable, known for his brash style and frequent online outbursts, appears undeterred by the backlash, insisting that he will now take full advantage of the law to protect his image.
