Controversial singer, Habeeb ‘Omolalomi’ Okikiola, better known as Portable and his band boys who assaulted government officials have been arraigned in court.
Recall that NEW DAILY PRIME reported earlier that Portable and his boys teamed up and beat up some Ogun State government officials who came to his bar to inspect the place.
According to reports, Portable clashed with the government officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) in a bar, Odogwu, in Iyana Ilogbo, Ogun State late last year.
Sharing the details of what ensued between Portable and the government officials, popular influencer, @man_of_letters, took to his X page to disclose that the officials had arrived some days before the incident to go about their work.
The defendants, who were arraigned on Friday included; Nurudeen Warris, 21; Adetola Alashe, 25; Samuel Adeleke, 28; Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, 19; and Oluwapelumi Adeosun, 20.
Others are Gospel Kanu, 20; Precious Ohiegebo, 19; Ifeoluwa Babatunde, 27; and Fatimo Muhammed, 26.
They were charged with five charges, including assault, obstruction, possession of dangerous weapons, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
According to the court, Portable and his boys beat up the planning officers—Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero.
The singer and his boys were allegedly armed with guns and cutlasses when they clashed with the officials of government.
Portable is currently on the run while his boys have been granted a N50 million bail by the court.
The case has been adjourned to the 17th of March, 2025.
