Nigerian hip-hop singer Portable has publicly apologised to Fuji music icon King Saheed Osupa after a heated dispute over copyright infringement.
The controversy erupted when Portable accused Osupa of removing his song from streaming platforms.
According to reports, Portable had used a line from one of Osupa’s songs without permission. In response, Osupa and his distribution team took legal action, leading to the track’s removal from Apple Music and Spotify.
Portable faces backlash for disrespect
After the song was taken down, Portable lashed out at Osupa, calling him “big for nothing.” His comments sparked widespread criticism, with many accusing him of disrespecting a veteran in the music industry.
As the backlash grew, fans and industry insiders urged Portable to show more respect to his elders. Some warned that his habit of engaging in public disputes could damage his career.
Singer regrets his outburst
Realizing the impact of his words, Portable took to Instagram to express regret. In a video message, he admitted that his temper led him to speak harshly and pleaded for forgiveness.
“I’m a hot-tempered person. I have said my piece, and it’s over now. My fans, please forgive me. King Saheed Osupa, Oba Orin, please don’t be offended,” he said.
He went on to explain that money was the root of their disagreement, comparing it to how financial matters often cause conflicts within families.
“It’s money that causes fights. It destroys relationships between siblings and even between a father and son. Our disagreement started because of music money. When I went to collect my payment for the song, I found out it had been removed from streaming platforms. That’s why I reacted the way I did,” he explained.
A public plea for reconciliation
Portable concluded his apology with a heartfelt appeal, addressing Osupa as a father figure.
“Please, my daddy, forgive me. Accept me as your child,” he pleaded.
His message was seen as an attempt to mend fences with Osupa and his fans, many of whom had criticized his earlier behavior.

This is not the first time Portable has found himself in the middle of public drama. Known for his outspoken and unpredictable personality, he has been involved in multiple controversies, often clashing with fellow artists and industry figures.
