The stunt resulted in a serious motor accident that the police say endangered not only Peller’s life but also those of other innocent road users.
In a statement released on Tuesday, signed by Abimbola Adebisi, the command spokesperson described the influencer’s actions as a “deliberate attempt to commit suicide.”
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further probe.
“The outcome of the investigation will be made public, and the suspect will be charged in the court of competent jurisdiction in accordance with the law,” stated Adebisi.
She said the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, issued a stern warning to content creators and influencers across the state to desist from promoting or engaging in criminal and life-threatening acts for online engagement.
Adebisi added that the commissioner cautionedpe that lawlessness on social media will not be tolerated.
