Reality star Josephine Ijioma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has denied claims that she said she is yet to receive her N100 million grand prize for winning the 2022 edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show.
New Daily Prime recalls that Phyna had in 2023, publicly called out the organisers of the show, alleging that she had not received all the prizes attached to her victory.
Following a series of statements from both Phyna’s team and the Big Brother Naija organisers, the issue eventually faded from public attention, with many fans assuming it had been resolved.

However, controversy resurfaced recently after a video in which Phyna allegedly said she had not received her prize money began trending online.
Addressing the viral clip during a recent livestream on Twitch, Phyna insisted that the video was deliberately edited to misrepresent her comments.
She explained that in the full video, she was responding to people who mocked her for becoming a streamer despite winning N100 million in 2022.
“They keep cutting my video. I never said I have not received my N100 million. I was only talking to people who asked me if the N100 million has finished,” she said.
Phyna added that the edited video nearly triggered a legal dispute between her and the reality show organisers, who were reportedly displeased by the implication that she had not been paid.
She said she had to clarify the situation by explaining that the clip was cut out of context and urged the organisers to watch the full Twitch video for confirmation.
The reality star also warned bloggers to desist from editing her videos to twist her statements, threatening legal action against any platform that misrepresents her words and causes her legal trouble.
