Former Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has spoken out for the first time since a viral video captured her in a physical altercation at a hotel in Abuja.
The reality TV star’s reaction comes after social media was flooded with footage showing her engaged in a heated brawl with another woman, sparking widespread criticism and speculation about what led to the incident.
Taking to her Instagram story, Phyna clarified the circumstances behind the viral fight, revealing that the person involved was a close friend who had allegedly stolen from her multiple times and was finally caught.

According to her, the altercation began after she confronted the friend over the theft, which quickly escalated into a fight before security personnel and onlookers intervened.
“The video circulating was recorded after the fight. I was heading to the station when the girl in question brought touts to the hotel. The girl keeps stealing from me. She stole again yesterday and got caught. While trying to sort it, it led to a fight,” Phyna explained.
The reality star added that the situation turned violent when the alleged thief called in reinforcements to attack her at the hotel premises.
“Check that door, even the girl, blood full. Make una pray make she sha survive. I’m the last person my fellow girl will bring to the ground at that reception. The only people that were with me were just three; every other person were touts that she called in,” she said.
Phyna further claimed that the viral video circulating online showed only the aftermath of the fight and not the events that led up to it.
“That video, I was dragged down by the touts she brought, and she was on me. Well, when she wakes up, she will go chill in prison. She’s currently in the hospital. Me, I dey hotel dey chill,” she added defiantly.
The BBNaija star also hinted at taking legal action against the individual, emphasizing that she would not tolerate betrayal from someone she once considered a friend.
The incident, which took place earlier in the week, reportedly began in Phyna’s hotel room before spilling into the lobby area, causing chaos and attracting the attention of other guests. Eyewitnesses said the fight escalated until hotel security and police officers were called in to restore order.
Phyna’s response has sparked fresh debates online, with some fans expressing sympathy while others criticized her for allowing the situation to turn physical.
This is not the first time the Level Up edition winner has made headlines for controversial reasons. Phyna, known for her outspoken personality, has previously clashed with fans and fellow celebrities over various social issues.
Despite the backlash, the reality star appears unfazed, maintaining that she acted in self-defense and that justice will prevail once the alleged culprit recovers.
As investigations continue, Phyna has assured fans that she is safe and remains focused on her career, hinting that this incident will not derail her plans.
“I’m fine and chilling. God knows my truth, and that’s what matters,” she concluded.
