TikTok creator and streamer Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, has addressed two major controversies involving him, insisting that he is not personally at fault in both incidents.
The first issue stems from his unauthorised visit to the palace of Oba Ewuare II in Benin City on March 6, 2026, during his nationwide tour.

The Benin Traditional Council had earlier condemned the visit as a breach of palace protocol and a desecration of sacred grounds, stating that Peller and his team entered without official permission.
The incident reportedly led to disciplinary actions, including the suspension of a chief, the arrest and prosecution of a palace staff member, and ongoing proceedings involving a queen who appeared in related content.
The council has also summoned Peller to appear before a committee of chiefs to explain his actions and issue a written apology, warning of possible legal consequences if he fails to comply.
Reacting during a livestream, Peller maintained that he acted on instructions from his manager and was unaware that the visit violated any rules.
“My manager instructed me to go to the Oba of Benin’s palace. I was unaware until he informed me that they wanted me there. Any consequences should be handled by him. I did nothing wrong; my hands are clean,” he said.
He added that he conducted himself respectfully during the visit, greeting everyone he met.
The second controversy involves a N395 million lawsuit filed against him by a Lagos resident, who accused him of defamation, cyber harassment, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress following an incident at a lounge in Lekki.
According to the suit, Peller allegedly insulted the woman, recorded her without consent, and shared the video online, which later went viral and attracted backlash.
Addressing the matter, Peller said he does not have the financial capacity to meet the demands outlined in the lawsuit and suggested that the situation appears targeted at ruining him financially.
“I don’t have the money to give to the woman suing me. It feels like everyone wants me to go broke,” he said.
He reiterated that he had previously apologised over the incident and appealed for forgiveness once again.
“I’m begging, I’m just a small child in this, and a child cannot function without direction. I have even apologised to her before,” he added.
Peller concluded by maintaining his innocence while expressing hope that both issues would be resolved amicably.
