Veteran actress Morenike Alausa Sulaimon, widely known as Mama Ereko, shared a heartfelt story about Fuji star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and his unexpected sacrifice to support her movie project.
She revealed the story in a recent interview, describing it as one of the most memorable moments of her long career in Nollywood.
Mama Ereko explained that she was already on set when she learnt that Pasuma, who was scheduled to appear in 22 different scenes, was actually in Germany at the time of the shoot. She said the information shocked her because she had expected him in Nigeria for the production.

However, instead of calling to withdraw from the project or asking for a schedule change, Pasuma made a surprising move. He flew back to Nigeria solely to honour his commitment to her film.
According to Mama Ereko, the singer did not want anyone around him to know he was travelling back to Nigeria for the project.
As a result, he made discreet arrangements and kept the trip private. She said he even left his clothes behind in Germany and bought new ones at the airport to avoid questions from people who might notice his sudden movement.
In her words, “He came from Germany to deliver his roles for my movie. Pasuma knew how much I valued the project, and he respected me enough to show up. He knew I loved him so much, and he did not want to disappoint me.”
She said Pasuma did not waste time after returning to the country. He came straight from the airport to her movie set. Mama Ereko recalled that he arrived looking tired but determined to complete his scenes because he had promised her he would not let her down.
After finishing the 22 scenes, Pasuma immediately left Nigeria again. Mama Ereko said he returned to Germany the same day or shortly after, without any delay. She said his dedication moved her deeply because it showed a rare level of commitment and loyalty.
“That’s a day I never forgot,” she said. “He finished everything and went back to Germany. He did not complain, and he did not make a fuss about it.” She added that his actions proved that some people in the entertainment industry still valued honesty and personal relationships.
The actress also shared a small but humorous detail about their friendship. She revealed that she still owed Pasuma ₦10,000, a debt that came up during the production.
With a smile, she said he had forgotten about the money, showing that his concern was never financial but purely about honouring their working relationship.
“He doesn’t even remember,” she said, laughing. “That is the kind of person he is.”
Mama Ereko’s story quickly attracted public attention because it highlighted a side of Pasuma that many fans rarely saw. While he is widely known for his energetic music, stage charisma, and long-standing career in Fuji entertainment, this story showed him as someone willing to make personal sacrifices for the people he respects.
Her account also shed light on the challenges Nollywood actors face during production. Many projects rely on trust, personal relationships, and the willingness of cast members to keep their word. Mama Ereko said Pasuma’s effort reminded her why she had held him in high regard for many years.
In the interview, she emphasised that loyalty and humility were becoming rare in the industry, and Pasuma’s actions stood out as an example others could learn from. She said his support made a big difference to the project and strengthened their bond as colleagues and friends.
The actress closed her story by expressing her gratitude once again, saying she hoped more entertainers would show the same level of dedication and respect in their collaborations.
