The General Overseer of the Mountain of Liberty and Miracle Ministry, Chris Okafor, has withdrawn the public apology he earlier issued to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala over allegations surrounding their alleged secret relationship.
The controversy between the cleric and the actress began last year after Ogala publicly accused Okafor of abandoning her despite promising to marry her following what she described as an eight-year intimate relationship.

According to the actress, the pastor ended the relationship abruptly after years of alleged emotional and physical involvement.
She claimed that she was deeply hurt by the situation and demanded compensation for what she described as betrayal.
The situation escalated after a video clip surfaced on social media showing the clergyman with a young lady in what many interpreted as a compromising situation.
Following the circulation of the video, Ogala intensified her accusations, alleging that the pastor had been involved in several scandalous and questionable activities.
In response to the allegations and growing public attention, Okafor reportedly gave the actress $10,000. However, Ogala rejected the amount, stating that it was insignificant compared to the evidence she claimed to possess against the cleric.
Amid the heated exchange, the pastor later issued a public apology during a church service. In the emotional moment, he apologised to Ogala and other women he said he might have hurt, even going on his knees before his congregation to seek forgiveness.
Despite the apology, the actress continued to criticise the cleric on social media, repeatedly raising new accusations against him.
However, in a recent development, Okafor has made a U-turn by withdrawing the apology he previously offered. Speaking in a now-viral video during a church service, the pastor claimed he was pressured by people close to him to apologise, insisting that he had done nothing wrong.
“There’s no apology for what I didn’t do or for someone I haven’t met face to face,” he told his congregation.
He further stated that his decision to apologise at the time was influenced by his desire to prevent respected religious leaders from being dragged into the controversy.
According to him, the apology was meant to protect prominent “fathers of faith” whom he mentioned during the address, including David Abioye and Matthew Ashimolowo.
“Firstly, the reason why I apologised was that the fathers of faith were being dragged, and I did not want them to be dragged,” he said.
Explaining why he knelt during the earlier apology, Okafor insisted it was not because of the actress.
“I knelt down because of those fathers, not because of any Jezebel anywhere,” he added, referring to Ogala.
The pastor further stated that he now intends to address the matter through legal channels rather than through public exchanges.
Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding the cleric has taken another dimension following allegations by his second daughter, Amara, who previously accused him of assault and abuse and threatened to take legal action against him.
The ongoing dispute continues to generate widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians expressing mixed opinions about the allegations and the pastor’s recent withdrawal of his apology.
