Popular content creator Olamide Ogunleye, widely recognized by his stage name Oluwadolarz, recently took to social media to unveil a shocking and unsettling experience he had with an unidentified individual in the entertainment sector.
On a Sunday night Instagram story, the Nigerian comedian and musician disclosed that a prominent figure in the industry made an alarming proposition he would only consider promoting Oluwadolarz’s music if the comedian engaged in a sexual act with him first.
In his candid post, Oluwadolarz reported that the entertainer explicitly stated, “You will promote my songs. Endorse my music. Help me top the chart. But make I first bend over make you enter my Yansh. E.n.k.r, sir.”
This bold and shocking revelation has left many of his followers and fans stunned, raising serious questions about the pressures and challenges faced by emerging artists in the competitive world of entertainment.
While Oluwadolarz is predominantly known for his comedic talent, he has also ventured into music.
His creativity shines through in his unique interpretations of trending songs and collaborations with various artists.
In 2018, he drew attention for his remake of Olamide Badoo’s hit track “Science Student,” a move that reportedly did not sit well with the original artist.
Despite the controversy surrounding “Science Student,” Olamide had previously endorsed Oluwadolarz’s version of another song, “Wo,” sharing it on his Instagram page.
This endorsement led Oluwadolarz to believe that his interpretation of “Science Student” would also be well received, but that was not the case. In an exclusive interview with Sunday Scoop, Oluwadolarz clarified that it was never his intention to upset Olamide.
“When I did a version of ‘Wo,’ Olamide shared it on his Instagram page; so, I felt he would like this too. Before I was told that he was unhappy with my interpretation, I had the feelings too. But when I met him at a video shoot, he didn’t say a word about it. He greeted me and said it was nice to meet me,” he explained.
Oluwadolarz further speculated that Olamide’s dissatisfaction with “Science Student” may have been due to the way his video interpretation exposed certain themes that were previously concealed in the original song.
He acknowledged the underlying anti-drug message present in Olamide’s original video, emphasizing, “If you watch his video well, you will see that he was fighting against the use of drugs.”
New Daily Prime, reported Oluwadolarz’s belief that regardless of his future successes, he will always regard himself as an emerging talent in the industry.
This humble perspective underscores his commitment to growth and development as an artist.
Earlier this year, Oluwadolarz expanded his musical repertoire by collaborating with fellow artist Smile T on a new single titled “Fuchor Me.”
This latest endeavour highlights his continuous evolution and contribution to the ever-evolving landscape of Nigerian entertainment.
The revelation shared by Oluwadolarz sheds light on the often hidden struggles that artists face within the industry, where talent alone is sometimes not enough to secure support and recognition.
As conversations regarding consent and ethical practices within the entertainment sector continue to gain traction, Oluwadolarz’s experience serves as a crucial reminder of the challenges many artists encounter in their pursuit of success.
As this story continues to develop, fans and industry peers alike are left questioning the integrity of relationships within the entertainment realm, signalling a need for introspection and change in how emerging artists are treated.
