Popular media personality and luxury car dealer, Ola of Lagos, has denied claims linking him to ownership of the Skywise Group property recently demolished by the Lagos State Government.
In a video shared on his social media pages, Ola clarified that he was merely a tenant and not the property owner, contrary to the circulating reports suggesting otherwise. According to him, his car dealership business only occupied a section of the land under a lease agreement.
“I want to clear the air about the demolition of my car lot,” he said. “I never owned the Skywise Group property; I only rented a portion to run my business. The Lagos State Government acted because some safety measures were not followed, not because of any personal issue with me.”

The clarification comes amid growing online speculation that the Lagos influencer had lost a multimillion-naira property in the demolition carried out by state authorities. The incident, which drew public attention after viral videos showed bulldozers tearing down the structure, sparked widespread debate over compliance, ownership, and accountability in Lagos’s booming real estate and business scene.
Ola of Lagos, known for showcasing luxury cars and exotic properties on his platforms, became the subject of intense criticism after activist Deji Adeyanju and other social commentators accused him of allegedly misleading the public by implying ownership of the demolished property.
However, in his latest statement, Ola insisted that he never claimed to be the owner and expressed disappointment that the false reports had been amplified without verification.
He emphasized that the demolition was a regulatory enforcement action by the Lagos State Government, which had earlier warned of structural violations and non-compliance with safety standards at the Skywise Group site.
“This is not about me or my business,” he explained. “The government carried out the demolition because the property did not meet some safety requirements. It wasn’t targeted at me or any individual. People need to confirm facts before spreading misinformation.”
Ola also expressed gratitude to his supporters who reached out after the demolition, assuring them that his car dealership remains in operation and unaffected in the long term. He reiterated his commitment to conducting business transparently and within the boundaries of the law.
“Everything I do is legitimate. My business is still running. I will continue to follow due process in all my dealings,” he said.
The demolition of the Skywise property adds to a growing list of enforcement actions taken by Lagos authorities in recent months, targeting illegal structures and developments built without proper approvals.
While the move has sparked debate among business owners and residents, the government insists that such actions are necessary to maintain safety and urban order.
For Ola of Lagos, the incident serves as a lesson in the importance of clarity and truth in public communication. As one of Nigeria’s most recognizable online personalities, his statement aims to correct the narrative and refocus public attention on the facts, that he remains a tenant, not a property owner, and that the government’s action was a routine safety measure, not a personal vendetta.
