Popular socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has admitted that failing to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a political mistake.
Speaking at a political gathering in Imo State, the businessman said he has now adopted a new political strategy focused on collaborating with the federal government rather than opposing it.

According to him, the event was the outcome of weeks of planning and represented growing unity and support for the current administration among some political stakeholders in the region.
“We have decided to partner with the government at the center. We are not ready to fight. We tried fighting and it didn’t work for us,” he said.
Cubana Chief Priest explained that years of political opposition had not delivered the desired outcomes, which informed the decision to change the approach.
He also commended the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, for maintaining a strong working relationship with the federal government. According to him, such cooperation has contributed to development projects in the state.
The businessman further praised Seyi Tinubu, describing him as a unifying figure helping to strengthen relationships across ethnic and regional lines.
Reflecting on the last election, Cubana Chief Priest acknowledged that he had previously opposed Tinubu but now views that decision as a miscalculation.
“Politics is a game… we don’t want to lose again and we will never waste our votes again,” he said.
He added that the growing support around the president could develop into one of the largest political movements in the country, promising stronger mobilisation ahead of future elections.
The socialite concluded his remarks by offering prayers for Tinubu’s success in office and urging Nigerians to embrace unity, cooperation, and partnership as the nation continues to move forward.
