Nollywood actress Ajara Lasisi affectionately known as Aunty Ajara passed away.
The tragic news was shared on Thursday by celebrated director Tobi Oladele Teemony, also known as Tee Mony, via a heartfelt statement on Instagram.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished actress, Aunty Ajara. She left us overnight after a long and valiant struggle with her illness,” the statement revealed.
Teemony noted that throughout her illness, Aunty Ajara was enveloped in “immense love, prayers, and financial support from compassionate individuals worldwide.”
“We extend our profound gratitude to all who stood with her through prayers, contributions, and unwavering encouragement,” he expressed.
The director also appealed to the public to cease donations to the account previously established for her treatment, clarifying that financial assistance is “no longer necessary.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, loved ones, and all those mourning this profound loss,” the statement concluded.
