Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Mr Sanku Comedy, has died following a ghastly car accident along the Oyo–Ogbomoso road in Ibadan.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday. According to reports, the vehicle in which Sanku was travelling veered off the road and crashed into a ditch.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital alongside a friend who was with him at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, both were pronounced dead hours later.
News of his passing spread quickly on social media, with photos and videos of the crash site drawing an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow entertainers.
Mr Sanku Comedy was known for his creative storytelling, humorous skits, and relatable content that earned him a growing fan base online.
He began his content creation journey in 2021 and steadily built a reputation for his unique comedic style, which set him apart in Nigeria’s vibrant skit-making industry.

Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa expressed her sadness over the news in a post on Instagram. She revealed that after hearing of the accident, she had sent one of her students who lived close to Bowen Hospital to check on him. According to her, the student initially reported that Sanku was responding to treatment.
“Despite my prayers against death, he eventually passed on,” Awelewa wrote, lamenting the untimely loss.
Fans and colleagues have since taken to social media to mourn the young entertainer, describing him as a talented and hardworking creator whose career was only just beginning to blossom.
Mr Sanku Comedy’s death adds to the growing list of young Nigerian creatives who have passed away tragically, leaving behind a void in the online comedy space and the wider entertainment industry.
